Overview

Nestled in the heart of Pascoe Vale South, Panini e Pizzeria is a takeout gem that brings authentic Italian flavors to Melbourne’s north-west. Located at 73A Melville Rd, this family-run spot is a heartfelt tribute to Italian heritage, where every dish tells a story inspired by the owner Phil’s relatives.

The main draw here is undoubtedly their paninis. Crafted with locally sourced Impasto bread, each panini balances crispness with a fluffy interior, providing the perfect base for rich, thoughtfully curated fillings. Whether it’s the hearty Hot Salami, the classic Nonna Rosa, or the elevated Domenico with its mixed mushrooms and truffle, the sandwiches deliver a satisfying depth that both regulars and newcomers celebrate. Fans of meat flavors will appreciate the Polpette Meatball Panini, praised for its saucy richness and genuine Italian flair.

Beyond paninis, the pizzeria offers a collection of well-crafted dishes including creamy, house-made pastas and the ever-popular Pietro's Parma. While the pasta portions lean towards the modest side, their flavor profile is attentive, complemented by refined desserts such as the pistachio tiramisu—celebrated for its perfect balance and gentle sweetness.

Panini e Pizzeria’s drink selection deserves mention too, with an enticing array of iced coffees and chocolate-based beverages like the iced mocha and the refreshing iced matcha, making for an ideal pairing with their savory offerings.

The space leans toward casual and efficient, designed mainly for takeout but welcoming enough for quick visits. It caters well to busy locals and Italian food enthusiasts who appreciate quality without fuss. The family-owned nature injects warmth into the dining experience, supported by friendly service that reflects genuine passion for their craft.

For those seeking an authentic slice of Italy on the go with thoughtfully prepared paninis, creamy pastas, and homemade sweets, Panini e Pizzeria stands out as a must-visit. Its blend of traditional recipes and fresh, local ingredients creates a satisfying, memorable taste experience that invites repeat visits, especially once dinner rolls around and their wood-fired pizzas are available.

Meatball panini was perfect. Full of Italian flavour, nice and saucy Pastas are also yum but not as much pasta for the cost at $29 Pistachio tiramisu had perfect flavour balance and wasn’t too sweet

@paniniepizzeria is family owned gem has been run by Phil and his mum for the past year and a half! The menu is a heartfelt tribute, with every item named after Phil’s nonna, nonno, aunty, and uncle. They serve up mouthwatering, fully loaded paninis, rich and creamy pastas, and perfectly baked pizzas which is all made in-house. Unfortunately I missed out on the pizzas because it’s only available for dinner, but i definitely will come back for it! Featured: Cinque Carne Nonna Rosa Parma Gina’s polpette Iced coffee Tiramisu Don’t miss their signature crema and tiramisu they’re absolute must-tries!

Great paninis made fresh to order. They use bread from Impasto locally which is super crisp and fluffy. High quality imported products, however could do a bit more seasoning for the chicken cotoletta. Super aromatic and great size for $18. They make homemade tiramisu which is not too sweet and super creamy. Loved their new menu item Domenico Panini with their mixed mushrooms and truffle. Their signature Nonna Rosa & Polpette were great classics which could both have a more rounded flavour. Even their arancini from Arancini Melbourne are amazing.
